What Is This Therapy?
The Let’s Do Project is a twelve-week, group-based intervention which is designed to increase bonding and attachment between children and their care givers. Each group is comprised of six children and six adults. This programme is divided into six practical sessions and six psychoeducation sessions. At fortnightly intervals, children and adults will be guided through a series of activities which are in-keeping with nurture, engagement, challenge and structure to help adults identify their children's early unmet needs. The following week, carers/parents will attend an adult only group where trauma informed parenting techniques (which are in keeping with Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy) will be introduced to enhance the participants understanding of their children, using the video footage from the practical sessions.
The Let's Do + differs from the standard Let's Do Project because, at the end of the intervention, we continue to work on a direct basis for a further 8 sessions to ensure that the good work we have achieved in the previous intervention is fully inbedded within the family home.

How can I get started?
The first step is to simply reach out to us via email of by phone. Once we have your details we can provide you with all the necessary information needed to either apply for funding via the ASGSF or the local authority.
How many people are in a group?
Each cohort is formed of 6 adults and 6 children. This intervention is facilitated by 2 practitioners to ensure there is always a ration of 2 adults to every 1 child in the room.
What does a typical intervention look like?
We begin with a meet and greet before undertaking a brief observation of you and your child interacting together. After that, we hold an initial session with adults to familiarise everyone with the therapy we are using and to provide an overview of what we will be doing on our first session with the children.
The following week, we hold a group session which is recorded for training purposes. When we return to the adult only feedback session the week after, we will use footage from the previous week to consider the children's behaviour through a theraputic lens; using these observations to inform what we do the week following.
This pattern continues for 12 weeks but, towards the end of the intervention, participants will have a direct session with one of the facilitators for an hour to discuss any aspect of the intervention they would like help with.
Where, how long for and what frequency are the sessions?
This intervention is divided between adult only sessions and group sessions with children. The adult only feedback session will be held online and the sessions with the children are held physically from a facility which is local to consensus of family who form the cohort.
The adult only feedback session last 2 hours and the interventions with the children lasts for 1 hour.
Lastly, these sessions take place on Saturday mornings.
How many direct session do we get after the LDP has finished and is this conducted online or in person? Also, will it involve the children?
A further 8 sessions are provided. These can be done in person, online; with your child or without. These session are to be used in a way which best suits your individual needs.
